My Dreams Come True

Today, as we were out running errands, my sweet daughter Lilah called to me from her seat in the back of the van. In her dreamy little voice, which is normally reserved for her princess persona, she said, "Mama, I just saw my dreams come true!"

I am not sure what it was in the Ace Hardware parking lot that made her "dreams come true", but I am so glad she finds joy in the little things.

Singing Sweet Nightengale

So, like many mamas with little girls, I know my Disney princesses inside and out.  I am pretty sure I am not the only one who says things like, "I think spinach is Cinderella's favorite food," or , "Rapunzel likes to clean her room", or even, "Princesses don't hit their brothers."

Sometimes, my little games don't work, but sometimes they do.  My own personal favorite is getting the kids to mop my kitchen floor.  Do you remember that scene on Cinderella when the step sisters are having their music lesson and sounding like sick cats.  Meanwhile, Cinderella is mopping downstairs, singing along and sounding like an angel.  Well, I asked my kids if they wanted to sing Sweet Nightengale (the song from that scene).  I put out a bucket of warm sudsy water and rags, and the kids scrub the floor and sing.  They actually ask me if they can please sing Sweet Nightengale.

Thank you Disney!
